Utopias: Navigating Without Coordinates (Phase Locked Planet)
(2020)
Creator: Jay Palmer
Utopias: Navigating Without Coordinates is a project by the international art collective, AAA. While we all worked on each others Utopias extensively, my main contribution is A Phase Locked Planet, an earth-like exoplanet where one side is perpetually night and other is perpetually day. I collaborated mainly with Nick Morrison, who did the sound design and helped with the over all concept. I did the art, writing and programming.

I just played this recently and it’s been on my mind since. It’s an amazing surrealist experience that’s just beautifully polished. I love their work for how it gives me the feeling of both resenting games but also embracing them. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you should! https://t.co/qYBnHDoJKL

9 discrete "experiences" connected via a hub world — easily one of the year's most formally inventive, visually adventurous games with a genuinely jaw-dropping climax. I love it. Drink in the game page (https://t.co/IKOJnikkSY) and marvel at these screens. pic.twitter.com/M5As0ZliQK

I had the pleasure of editing the 5th annual @gameartsnetwork's Videogame Arts Around the World roundup, featuring almost 30 events and initiatives from last year. It's incredibly inspiring to see what other people are doing, so make sure to check it out: https://t.co/25FqWxEQTt pic.twitter.com/B6yXcWXvw0
